This video is an ELD review of the Stoneridge EZ-ELD electronic logging device. The Federal ELD Mandate requirement is almost here! Hence, my goal is to find an inexpensive ELD solution for Car Haulers and Auto Transporters.
ELD Review of Stoneridge EZ-ELD
It’s no secret that I’m not a truck driver. I’m a Car Hauling Dispatcher. But I’m going to try and install the Stoneridge EZ-ELD in my car.
I like that the Stoneridge EZ-ELD comes with all the different adapters right inside the box. First, we’re going to look at all the adapters. Then, I’m going to install the ELD device into my car. Next, I’m going to download and install the mobile app on my phone. After that, I will connect the ELD device and eLog mobile app. Here we go!
ELD Ratings and ELD Review
Stoneridge makes everything so easy. Consequently, right on the back of the EZ-ELD round connector are the most important codes. That’s where we find the Reg Key and BT Pin. Stoneridge is going to need those to activate my ELD device. Also, for my OBDII dashboard diagnostic port, they make it easy to switch out the 9-pin adapter to light and medium duty vehicles.
After Changing The ELD Adapter
As you can see later in the video, I got a little hung up and I had talk to support. It just so happens that the Year, Make, Model, Engine and Fuel type of my car is not compatible with the EZ-ELD device (essentially because I drive an older sedan – not a motor carrier).
But I learned a lot! And I want to say that I really like the Stoneridge device. I like how it comes with all the adapters. It was easy to install, I like the mobile app, and I think the interface is great! Most of all, I love the incredible technical phone support!
I Give Stoneridge EZ-ELD An A+ In My ELD Review
In my mind, Stoneridge EZ-ELD electronic logging device gets an A+! I encourage you to check out Stoneridge EZ-ELD (and NO I am not getting paid for this). As far as the cost goes, they’re on the lower end of the spectrum. Because you can easily pay up to $1,000 a year for an ELD device, but with Stoneridge you’re looking at about $300 for your first year. That’s a great deal. In case you’re wondering why this company is even involved in this ELD race, Stoneridge currently supplies the European market with an ELD device which is referred to as a “tachograph”. For more info about that, visit: http://www.se5000.com/default.html
